Desquamation (Fire, Burn. Nobody) is the latest record from Rainy Miller released on HEAD II at the beginning of November 2022.

It’s an incredible record that feels like it’s fighting against some kind of tension, trying to find a release. There’s a sombre nature to many of the tracks but they feel exploratory with breakthroughs to the otherside on tracks like ‘Breathe, Sigh’.

There’s so many different elements that merge together across the album which move outwards and inwards at the same time. It’s visceral in a way you feel a part of, the struggle, the release, the emotion. It all runs through the album like it’s connected by blood, you can’t separate it. A constant yearning, sometimes we get there, sometimes we don’t.

Such a beautiful album, the video for Way Out is also so good!

It is all necessary, only if you want it to be.

‘Desquamation came in a way in which I think I will always find necessary. The shedding of a skin that will continue to grow back. The symbiosis within me of creativity, amassed with struggle or pain. Music and art to me are a means to expel inner trauma and issue.’
