Never The Right Time

It’s always a blessed day when there’s new Andy Stott. This is his latest album released this month on none other than Modern Love. This is a beautiful release and embodies so much emotion. The vocals by his former piano teacher, Alison Skidmore, are gorgeous and more distinct than in previous releases, as she appears on half of the album's tracks. A lot of the tracks blend together a range of different sounds, going from expansive ambience into more defiant tones. It’s so hard to describe as no one really does it like Andy Stott, the sounds are always unreal.

There’s so many complex ideas which are articulated perfectly, inducing melancholy but hopeful emotions all at the same time. The tracks are ‘fuelled by nostalgia and soul-searching’. I couldn’t recommend anything more highly, I’m in love with this record.
