Son of Philip

This is a 4 track EP released by Wigflex Records out of Nottingham. It’s the first I’ve heard of Son of Philip, but I’ll definitely be listening to more after hearing this. It’s inspired by the story of how Cans drummer Jake Liebezeit was once told to ‘play monotonous’ during the LSD-induced ramblings of a fan.

It consists of hypnotic, ‘crystallized electronics’ and there’s a range of sounds from stuff you’d listen to in your bedroom to stuff you’d hear on the dancefloor. There’s also a big remix of Rubber Stamp by Actress which you should listen to loud on good speakers or headphones. A big EP - I’d highly recommend you take a listen.
