Why We Sleep



A nice read about, you guessed it, why we sleep. This is a solid read in which Walker touches on all the aspects of sleep and goes into the research behind many of the big questions regarding sleep.

I’d heard a lot about this book and how good it was, so I thought I’d take a read. It’s so well written and fascinating. I feel like I learnt a lot from it and I’m quite interested in sleep and dreaming given that it’s quite significant. It highlights how important sleep actually is, which is easy to forget sometimes, and why this is so. It made me a lot more aware of how I’m sleeping and the impact of that in my waking life. I do think that after reading this book I do sleep better, or I guess just make a more conscious effort to try and sleep better. Lack of sleep is much more detrimental to all aspects of health than I previously thought.

I would highly recommend that you read this book. It’s eye opening and probably important if you are a human that is. There’s a lot to learn from a man who’s studied sleep for a significant portion of his life.
