Maravillas negras y Silencio is made up of two long-form compositions each spanning approximately twenty minutes. The alias of David Jarrín Zabala, who you may know for his collaboration with Roxane Métayer as Sage Alyte, created the two tracks from piano recordings and soundscapes made at the end of 2017 in Ecuador. The central themes of the pieces surround the emotions of mourning and the grief of loss.

It definitely feels as though you’re travelling through a range of emotions as throughout each of the pieces the passages gradually morph into different sounds. The piano keeps pushing through as it echoes slowly, making you feel as if you’re in the same room. It’s beautifully introspective, so I’d highly recommend you have a listen.
